What Happens After You Confirm a Clothing Order Bless Clothing

The deposit is paid. The contract is signed. For most brand owners, this is where the "radio silence" begins—and the anxiety sets in.

I’ve seen it hundreds of times: a founder worries their order has disappeared into a void. At Bless Custom Apparel, we believe the "after-order" phase is the most critical part of our partnership. It’s not just about sewing; it’s a high-stakes relay race involving fabric mills, dye houses, and precision engineering.

Here is exactly what happens to your order the moment you click "Confirm."

Quick Answer

Once an order is confirmed, it enters a 6 to 8-week lifecycle. This starts with Fabric Sourcing & Dyeing (2-3 weeks), moves to Pre-Production Sampling for final fit approval (1 week), enters Bulk Cutting & Sewing (2-3 weeks), and finishes with Quality Inspection & Global Shipping (1 week). The key "point of no return" is the cutting stage—once the fabric is cut, design changes are no longer possible.

Phase 1: The Raw Material Procurement

The second your deposit clears, our sourcing team "locks" your fabric.

  • Greige Procurement: We buy the raw, uncolored fabric from the mill.
  • The Dyeing Vat: If you requested a custom color, the fabric goes to the dye house. This is a scientific process where we match your Pantone Color under strict laboratory conditions to ensure "lot-to-lot" consistency.
  • Trim Ordering: Zippers, buttons, and custom woven labels are ordered simultaneously so they arrive just as the fabric is ready.

Phase 2: The PPS (Pre-Production Sample) Lock

Before we touch the bulk fabric, we produce the PPS.

Why the PPS is your "Golden Shield": This is the final version of your garment using the actual bulk fabric and trims. You must approve this. It serves as the physical contract. If the bulk doesn’t match the PPS, the factory is liable.

At Bless Clothing, we never start the machines until the PPS has a physical or digital "Green Light" from the client.

Phase 3: The Cutting Room Floor

This is the most underrated step. We use High-Efficiency Markers (blueprints for fabric layout) to minimize waste.

  • Relaxation: High-stretch fabrics like those used in our custom pajamas must "rest" for 24 hours after being unrolled so they shrink back to their natural state before cutting.
  • Precision Cutting: Using electric knives or laser cutters, we cut hundreds of layers of fabric at once based on your size grading.

Phase 4: The Assembly Line (The Magic Happens)

Your order is split into "bundles." A hoodie isn’t made by one person; it’s made by a team.

  1. Station A: Sews the pockets.
  2. Station B: Attaches the sleeves.
  3. Station C: Adds the hood and drawstrings.
  4. Station D: Handles the Flatlock or Overlock finishing.

Timeline Comparison: Casual vs. Complex Garments

Production Step Basic T-Shirts (Casual) Technical Pajamas/Hoodies
Fabric Sourcing 10-14 Days 15-21 Days
Sewing Time 7-10 Days 14-18 Days
QC & Packing 3 Days 5 Days
Total Lead Time ~4 Weeks ~6-8 Weeks

Decision Matrix: When to Request Updates

I recommend my clients follow the "3-Point Check-In" rule to stay informed without micro-managing the factory:

  • Check-In 1 (Week 2): Ask: "Has the bulk fabric arrived at the factory?"
  • Check-In 2 (Week 4): Ask: "Is the PPS ready for my final review?"
  • Check-In 3 (Week 6): Ask: "What is the estimated date for the Final Inspection?"

FAQs: Real Concerns During Production

Q: Can I change the size breakdown after the order is confirmed?

A: Only if the fabric hasn’t been cut yet (usually within the first 14 days). Once the "Cutting Report" is issued, the sizes are locked.

Q: What if a machine breaks down?

A: Professional factories like Bless Custom Apparel have redundant machinery. A single machine failure should never delay a bulk order; only fabric shortages or labor strikes usually cause significant delays.

Q: Does the factory send photos during sewing?

A: Yes! We often send "Floor Photos" to our clients. It’s a great way for you to generate "Coming Soon" content for your social media.
